Trade Machine: NBA Fantasy Trade Analyzer
The Trade Machine shows how a fantasy basketball trade moves each side. Pick the players each side sends and see a grade for both teams.
Uneven trades
If the two sides send different numbers of players, the side sending fewer gets a waiver-wire filler player so both sides are compared fairly. The filler matches the average player in the final round of a draft in your league size.
Full-team impact
Optionally enter each team's full roster to see a before and after for every category and for fantasy points per game. Points and category leagues are both supported, with ESPN or Yahoo scoring.

About the Trade Machine
The Trade Machine shows how a trade moves each team. Pick the players each side sends and it grades both sides. For a deeper look you can add both full rosters to see each team's whole-team impact before and after.
Every player gets one Value number: fantasy points per game multiplied by projected availability, meaning games played out of an 82-game season. A points trade compares the totals each side receives, and a category trade checks how many of the nine categories each side improves. If one side sends fewer players, a waiver-wire filler is added so both sides are compared fairly.
Common questions
What does availability mean?
It is a player's projected games played out of 82, a proxy for injury and rest risk. It is not how easy the player would be to find on waivers.
What is the waiver filler?
When the sides send different numbers of players, the side sending fewer gets a filler added. It is the average stats of the last round of your league's draft, for example picks 121 to 130 in a 10-team, 13-round league.
Do I have to enter full rosters?
No, full rosters are optional. Without them the Trade Machine grades the trade itself. With them it also shows how each team changes as a whole.
How are the grades decided in a points league?
Each side's incoming Value is added up and the two totals are compared as a percentage gap. A huge gap gives the winning side an A+ and the other an F, while a near-even trade grades close to a C for both.
Does it support ESPN and Yahoo scoring?
Yes. You can switch between ESPN and Yahoo scoring, and between points and category leagues, at any time.
